The Spaceship, Melbourne

01_30_21 Section Tests-01.png

The Spaceship is an experiment in how to build unconventionally, backwards and upside-down. I've been using the spaceship to challenge common building practices and how process, material reuse, and slow practices change an architectural product*.

*not commodity, but a production!

The form is an octagonal prism with an octagonal pyramid on top. Which I have now altered. It now consists of 6 modules which oddly interlock to create the structure. The functions is divided where the two space connect, the bottom program being a library, meditation, model-train and creation space and the top being a sleeping, movie watching, existential crisis space.

Though there are some preliminary sections below, this project is not following a plan-execute process. It is a constantly changing process that is chaotic and insanely fun - Is it architecture without a plan? It is an ever changing project - many deadlines have been missed, praise be!
